The little creek "Namenlose" flows through the idyllic valley in which Silbach is seated. Silbach is perfect for hiking through the surrounding forests and meadows and offers with the fresh air of the Sauerland pure recreation in the nature. For example the nearby mountain lake is a beautiful destination for a hinking tour. And also the source of the river Ruhr is not far away.
The history of Silbach is a history of mining. Silbach was rich of silver, slate diabase and lead. If you look out carefully you can find marks of this everywhere in Silbach and the forests around.
The restaurant Bücker at the main street is our tip. Here you can tase the regional cooking that will also satisfy gourmets.
1973 Silbach gained the award "Bundesgolddorf" and the Bundes-Goldplakette for it's beautiful athmosphere.
